About the Instructor
  • Jen Cardinale started slow-pitch softball when she was 6 years old in the Plum Borough Athletic Association because fastpitch was not offered. She became interested after watching her brother play baseball for the borough. Jen was always a standout player making all star teams for slow-pitch. After attending tournaments and witnessing fastpitch softball, Jen's passion for the game of fastpitch grew.  She became a member of Plum's first fastpitch in-house team when she was 12 as a pitcher and an infielder (occasionally catching when her coach would allow). Her team was undefeated for several years.  Jen attended a try-out for Pittsburgh Spirit Traveling fastpitch team when she was 15 years old and made the 18 and under team.  Jen also attended several college showcases at this time and ranked #1 pitcher for accuracy out of all high school pitchers when she was only 15.  After one year on Pittsburgh Spirit's team, Jen was offered a spot on the Keystone State Stealers where she played throughout high school. Jen played Varsity softball as a freshmen in high school where she helped take her team to the playoffs for the first time in several years.  Throughout high school, Jen was named all-section several times as well as honored in the Pittsburgh papers as a player to watch and as an all-star.
  • Jen received scholarship offers from several college's but choose Seton Hill University in Greensburg where she graduated with a Bachelor or Arts degree in Psychology in 2007. There she was a utility player, playing where ever she was needed but mostly pitching.  Jen helped run clinics at the University throughout her college career.
  • Jennifer has recently finished her master's degree in Elementary Education from Chatham University and currently works with Children with Autism or behavioral problems in New Kensington. Jennifer holds her teaching certificate and all state clearances to work with children. Currently Jen works with 9 girls in the Plum and Riverview area. She is always researching new techniques and continues to grow as a coach. Jen's focus is on mechanics
